Re-use , Recycle & Giveaway

I love the idea of re-using and recycling fabrics, adapting them for another use.  This tapestry was covering a rather pretty chair, but had become faded in parts and the brown background just didn't fit in the room that the chair was intended for.  I had the chair re-upholstered and for 5 years now these pieces of tapestry have been waiting to be made into something new.  I have combined the salvaged pieces of tapestry with sturdy French linen sacking that has a navy stripe down the centre.

Et voila! The finished cushion - front and back.

Giveaway:  Pay it Forward with a Handmade Surprise

Anyone seen this movie? A couple of days ago, Lindsay at Lindsay Sews posted the following message:
I promise to send something handmade to the first 3 people who leave a comment here. To be eligible, you must also post this in your blog, offering the same thing to 3 other people. The rules are that it must be handmade by you and it must be sent to your 3 people sometime in 2011.
I am now participating in the Pay it Forward handmade giveaway, and you can take part too! Leave me a comment if you're willing to Pay It Forward. The first three to respond will receive a handmade surprise from my stash.  If you aren't crafty or don't have a blog  and so that you don't feel left out,  read on ....  I will send something handmade by me to a follower selected at random who leaves a comment on this post.  It would be great if you could also share my blog on Twitter and Facebook.  (Please make sure you are a Google Friend Connect public follower, so I can contact you. Thanks!)
